From an undergrad in psychology, where I worked at a lab specialized in facial perception topics such as gaydar and mugshots, to premiering my first short film at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. The desire to understand the world and explore its many possibilities has always been within my nature.
Before art direction, I worked a coordinator for the City of Toronto, where I helped to launch Digital Main Street. It was during my role as a coordinator, that I learned about both what made me tick and what simply did not. It was also from having had this role, that I realized administration was not my passion, and that I needed to be a creative.
It wasn’t actually until the pandemic hit, that I was granted for the first time, a period to truly reflect on what I wanted out of life. And after a ton of introspection and equal parts stir crazy, I decided to pick a lane. This led to my decision to enrol as an art director at Miami Ad School in Toronto.
Here it's been humbling to have had the chance to work and intern alongside some of the most talented creatives I’ve ever met. From JOAN Creative in New York City to Target Marketing and Communications in St. John’s, Newfoundland, I’ve been able to acquire real-world experience across a range of client types from tourism to e-commerce to even small business. I've also been grateful for the opportunity to actually experience these cities in person. As learning the perspectives, attitudes and aesthetics of each space has been truly formative and invaluable.
